OOPS WARNINGS

If you or the person you are helping has a NECK INJURY AND there is NO Feeling or Movement in any limb, DO NOT MOVE the person. RING THE AMBULANCE!

If you have had SURGERY, only follow the instructions given to you by your surgeon and physiotherapist. This guide will not be specific to surgery and you may cause injury by using exercises here. If you have not been given instructions, contact your surgeon. 

OOPS is a guide to self management of injury and pain.
WARNING!! if you have any of the following symptoms, DO NOT CONTINUE! SEE A DOCTOR!: 

  • You are unable to move or put weight on an injured or painful or numb limb;
  • The limb feels unstable or wobbles;
  • Continuous (never stops) and unchanging (always the same level) Pain
  • Pressure, tightness, or a squeezing or aching sensation in your chest or arms that may spread to your neck, jaw or back. 
  • Nausea, indigestion, heartburn or abdominal pain
  • Shortness of breath
  • Fatigue
  • Lightheadedness or dizziness
  • Tingling
  • Numbness
  • Clammy (wet) Skin
  • Cold Sweat
  • Blurred or faulty vision
  • Bluish colour to the skin
  • Severe Pain
