RECOVERY SCHEDULE
Hip joint Injuries will usually show up as pain in the groin, buttock, or outer thigh.
Note: sometimes pain in the knee alone may be from a deep hip joint injury. Hip Joint injury doesn't show the swelling that is occurring deep to the tissues. Muscle or tendon injuries around the hip will be locally tender.
If there is also pain down the thigh or knee, you will need a physiotherapy consultation as per link below.
For moderate to severe pain, for two to three days after an injury, or a flare up of pain, reduce your mobility to necessary activities such as showering, meals etc.
if limping and unable to put weight on the leg, use a walking frame or crutches. SEE GAIT ASSESSMENT When walking with an aid, mimic the pattern of normal walking, even if you are barely touching the effected leg on the floor.
Increase the weight as pain is tolerated, every day, until fully weight bearing is achieved.
After 3 days use Hip Assessment to guide your next action to recovery.
