1. WARNING!! If there is NO PAIN and NO OTHER FEELING OR MOVEMENT in any section of any limb, DO NOT MOVE THE INJURED PERSON!!! RING AN AMBULANCE!!
2. If you have risen from sleep an are unable to turn your head, you can go to the Neck Injury Management link, below.
3. NECK PAIN and HEADACHES caused by an injury e.g. fall - USE THE FOLLOWING GUIDE. See how to use a Pain Scale here
SEVERE PAIN IS 7-10 out of 10 . Stay lying down and still. Have someone call the ambulance. Don't allow anyone to move or lift your neck to apply a soft collar. Someone can, VERY GENTLY, hold under the neck for pain relief until the ambulance arrives with a hard (rigid) collar. Follow the paramedic and doctors advice. Only commence neck injury management when your doctor allows AND your pain is less than 7 out of 10
MODERATE PAIN is 4-6 out of 10. Lie down. Get comfortable. Have someone apply a soft or rigid collar. Go to a doctor as soon as possible. When the doctor approves you to move about freely, you can begin with neck injury management as link below.
If the pain and restricted movement is not caused by an injury e.g. woke in the morning with a stiff, painful neck, you can commence with neck injury management as link below.
MILD PAIN is 1-3 out of 10 You are able to move around easily. Rest if pain increases. Follow neck injury management as link below.
