WRIST, HAND, & FINGERS

If deep cut finger or you cannot move your injured finger, SEE A DOCTOR, Immediately!!
If swelling is severe and there is numbness of the finger, SEE A DOCTOR Immediately!!

If you can move the injured hand or finger, you can follow this guide:

Whenever there is swelling, bandage the wrist or finger(s) in a straight or slightly flexed position.
Redo the bandage whenever loose.

For swelling of a single finger, you can also bind a piece of string firmly along finger from tip to base, in a spiral. Undo immediately so not to cut off the circulation. Redo five times. Then put away string and redo the bandage. Repeat several times per day.

Wear the bandage for 3 days.

After 3 days, if pain is mild to moderate swelling continues, use taping until swelling has resolved.

To progress the rehabilitation of your injury, complete a further assessment of the wrist or hand through the links below.
