Mobirise

See instructions for drawing your pain on devices.

You can draw a pain chart / graph to show how the pain changes over the course of 24 hours.

Then follow the range of movement guide below. It might be useful to have another person to estimate how much of your range you have before you feel pain or stiffness.

Write the percentage of movements in the calculator below and it will give you the average of all ranges as your functional range. This will give you the starting point and link for your rehabilitation as below.
Write this down so you can refer to it every few days to measure your improvement by following the rehabilitation guides as below. Then click the clear button to clear the form for the next time you use.

Posture
Check your posture in the mirror. Does it tilt either way? Is it painful to straighten your neck? Make a note. Remember, you are looking at a mirror image.
e.g Posture = tilts right
Flexion
Drop your head forward until pain or stiffness.
Full range is your chin touches your upper chest.
Estimate what percentage of your full range when you felt limitation.

Looking comfortably straight ahead = 0%
Pain Chin near to chest = 90%
Chin to upper chest = 100%

Write it down as: F = e.g 66%
Extension
Tip your head back until pain or stiffness.
Full range is face up to ceiling.
Estimate what percentage of your full range when you felt limitation.

Looking comfortably straight ahead = 0%
Looking straight up at ceiling = 100%

Write it down as: E = e.g 50%
Lateral Flexion
Tilt your head sideways until pain or stiffness.
Full Range is your ear is about 1/2 way to shoulder.
Estimate what percentage of your full range when you felt limitation.
Repeat Left and Right.

Looking comfortably straight ahead = 0%
Tilt ear half way to shoulder = 100%

Write it down as:
Lateral Flexion (R) = e.g 50%
Lateral Flexion (L) = e.g 25%
Rotation
Turn to look to one side as far as you can.
Full range is chin nearly pointing to top of shoulder.
Estimate what percentage of your full range when you felt limitation.
Repeat Left and Right.

Looking comfortably straight ahead = 0%
Looking around chin nearly to shoulder = 100%

Write it as:
Rotation (R) = e.g 80%
Rotation (L) = e.g 30%
